When the Late Tan Sri Datuk Loh Boon Siew met the Late Mr Soichiro Honda for the first time in 1958, a solid foundation to realise the power of dreams in Malaysia had taken its first and important step – Boon Siew Sdn Bhd was set up to become the sole distributor of Honda motorcycles, with its first purchase of 12 Honda Super Cub.

Two years later, Kah Motor Co. Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated and the first Honda automobile showroom was set up in Kuala Lumpur at Jalan Raja Laut, followed by another showroom in Penang at Jalan Dato Keramat in 1962 to serve the rapidly growing automotive market. Five years on, Kah Motor Malaysia introduced the N360 – the first Honda four-wheeler ever landed in Malaysia and the Honda CIVIC and ACCORD in 1972 and 1977 respectively.

We were the only automotive group in Malaysia that was complete with an assembly plant, sales, service, parts, and component manufacturing operations for both 2 and 4-wheeler operations. With the invaluable assistance of the Late Mr Soichiro Honda who opened its domestic “Japanese only” Honda International Technical School to Kah Motor, we were able to be the first in the world to train our local service engineers.

As envisioned by the Late Tan Sri Datuk Loh Boon Siew, the tireless efforts to excel in every aspect of the business has enabled Kah Motor to become the leader in providing excellent one-stop services to customers – from a 9-storey (5S) Service Centre with car elevators in the northern region (Penang) to one of the biggest 4S centres in Tebrau, Johor. In total, Kah Motor Malaysia has 8 branches in Peninsular Malaysia and a Sales and Service Outlet in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.
